Stewart began his fly fishing life at the age of 8
and has been in the industry for over 20 years as a fly fishing instructor and guide.

Trout and Smallmouth Wade Trips
We offer year round wading opportunities for both trout and smallmouth bass. Peak times for trout in our area is October through the end of May. As for smallmouth bass, the season kicks into gear late April and runs through the end of September.

A 50% deposit is required to book your trip.
Guided Smallmouth Wade Trips
Smallmouth trips are designed for 1 on 1 fishing due to the strenuous wading this fishing day requires.
$500 for one angler
A 50% deposit is required to book your trip.
All equipment, lunches and drinks are provided. Clients will need to license themselves and may be asked to drive or meet their guide depending on the day and location of the days trip. Guide gratuities are not included. A cash tip at the end of the day is the best and most common way to handle this.
Hosted Fly Fishing Trips
Tar Heel Fly Fishing offers a multitude of high quality and detail oriented trips that take place in western NC, southwest VA, east TN and also include opportunities to fish the US Rocky Mountains and the Bahamas. The best part is all the grunt work and planning will be taken care of by us. All you have to do is fish and make wonderful memories. We offer one and two night trips to western NC and east TN. Also offered are preplanned trips to Montana and Wyoming. We also have a four night/three day adventure to Andros Island chasing bonefishng in early May.
